How She Styled It: Lauren Robbins of Lauren Robbins Interiors

Lauren Robbins uses her natural eye for design to create spaces that are layered and collected, all while being reflective of her clients. She has an innate knack for spying an incredible vintage piece at a show, for knowing what unexpected touch will give balance and personality to a room, and for envisioning what color or design change will transform a space.

Lauren plays with art, antiques and natural materials to build her signature style: a traditional design with a modern edge that feels deeply personal to the owner. She loves adding personality to a traditional home with sophisticated conversation pieces.

Lauren Robbins established Lauren Robbins Interiors in 2018. Her retail shop at Summerville Studio opened in 2021. She calls the historic Summerville neighborhood in Augusta, Georgia home, living just down the road from our studio with her husband and three children.

Q&A

What Cuvée Home items did you select and why?

For our client's bedroom, we had a small bay window where we wanted to create a reading nook that overlooked the back yard and garden - a place where our client could get away and enjoy doing what she loved most in her free time. Due to the scale of the windows and the chairs we were able to place in the nook, we decided that the Sadie lamp would be best to properly light this little nook.

Describe your home or personal design aesthetic in 3 words:

 Curated, collected, and polished.

What is your favorite styling piece or accessory?

I love glass bowls - especially vintage bowls - and am always scouring antique shops for the next great find. They are great to finish off a collection on a coffee table or used as catch-alls on beside tables and vanities.

Favorite Design Book:

I am constantly perusing design books and magazines, and am currently re-reading love Summer Thorton's "Wonderland" for inspiration.

Favorite Cocktail:

I love a slightly dirty martini with blue cheese olives but it has to be really cold. When I order it, I ask that the top of the cocktail look like a frozen lake.

What is your favorite room in your house and why?

Every room in my home in constantly evolving.  It is the beauty and the curse of being an interior designer : ). I recently installed a beautiful GPJ Baker mural in my dining room and it instantly made the space feel moody and aged in the best way.  I love the warmth it created in such an intimate room.

Any tips for creating a stylish home?

Collections. I love a home that tells a story. I encourage my clients to begin collections of anything - bowls, boxes, art, vintage cigarette lighters, etc. - as it encourages them find pieces when traveling and out and about that tell stories and evoke questions.
